The eye symbol has appeared over many countries, in many civilisations and cultures over thousands of years. I believe it goes as far back as to ancient Egypt and the eye of Horus, yet the eye is called ‘Nazar’ most commonly now. In ancient time Malta, and around the Mediterranean, often eyes were painted on the boats as a knowing that the goddess watched over the boats. Instead of interpreting the eye as to ward of bad luck, I see it as a sign that we are always watched over with the kindest of eyes, an protected by love. This symbol always take me back to the Mediterranean with its colours and vibration, and that is one of my favourite places on earth since childhood.
